Objectives
This course is designed to provide comprehensive operational knowledge to the operation staff to understand the operations of the interface equipment e.g. loading arms, hoses, connect couplings and emergency release systems. The course also aims to apprise the operations with some of the essential components of the export systems. At the end of this course, the trainee shall be able to: • Know and understand the various types of marine loading arms • Prepare, test and safety connect hoses, loading arms and vapor return lines • Know the forces and stresses acting on the manifold and the vessel during cargo transfer operations • Know and use the various types of marine quick connect and disconnect couplings • Know the emergency release systems for marine terminals • Care and maintenance of loading arms, couplings and emergency release systems • Understand and operation of the inert gas systems • Know and establish the procedure for the prevention of pollution of the seas, in accordance with the provisions of the MARPOL 73/78, as amended and application of any local laws
